Plate flanges are one of the simplest in structure and most cost-effective flange types in piping systems. They are directly machined from circular steel plates, have no hub transition, and are connected to pipes through fillet welding. The nickel alloy plate flanges supplied by Hefei Tailan Metal Co., Ltd. are manufactured from high-quality nickel-based alloy plates through multiple precision processes including cutting, solution heat treatment, machining, drilling, and pickling/polishing. Featuring simple structure, economical cost, convenient processing, and excellent corrosion resistance, they are specifically designed for low pressure, non-critical service conditions, or large diameter pipe connections.

Application Notes:

  1. Plate flanges are typically used for low pressure, ambient temperature, non-critical service conditions
  2. Suitable for non-aggressive media such as water, air, inert gases
  3. Not recommended for high temperature, high pressure, severe cyclic loading, or toxic media applications

Dimensional and Appearance Inspection

Overall Dimensions: Measuring all critical dimensions using calipers, micrometers, tape measures

Bore Diameter: Measuring bore size ensuring pipe matching

Sealing Surface: Inspecting flatness, roughness, no scratches

Bolt Holes: Inspecting hole diameter, bolt circle, hole position

Plate Flatness: Inspecting overall flange flatness

Non-Destructive Testing

Penetrant Testing (PT): 100% inspection of sealing surface and critical areas

Ultrasonic Thickness Measurement: Verifying flange thickness uniformity

Marking and Traceability

Each flange has a unique identification, traceable to plate batch and production records.
